BJP State Spokesperson Pratul Shahdev, on Friday, said that the foundation stone of Mandal Dam on January 05 by Prime Minister is a big deal for Bihar and Jharkhand. Shahdev said that due to setting up of this dam, it is estimated that in only Jharkhand farmers will be benefitted with one hundred crore from kharif crop.
Shahdeo said, “Some people are saying that the State will not get benefit of Mandal Dam, they should understand this dam will give benefit to a large numbers of farmers of Palamu, Garhwa and Latehar. It will also increase water level of the Palamu division which often is in the grip of famine. Jharkhand will be directly benefited from the power which will generate from the dam.”
The BJP spokesperson said that only eight villages of Jharkhand will be affected by this project and the beneficiaries will be given the compensation amount at the rate of Rs 15 lakhs. Shahdeo said, “The Congress government never paid attention to the Mandal Dam. Now when the Prime Minister is going to fulfill the dreams of the old Mandal dam, then they are finding faults in it.”
Criticising the Congress Party Shahdeo said, “Congress is anti-farmers’ party. It never wanted to develop farmers of the border areas of the Palamu division and Bihar. Farmers are only vote bank for the Congress. Under the leadership of Narendra Modi, the BJP government is committed to doubling the income of the farmers. It appears that the Congress party is not digesting the development of farmers.”
