Hazaribagh celebrated the birth ceremony of lord Sri Krishna. According to Hindu calendar the 8th day of Bhado month of Hindu calendar which was on 18th of August is celebrated as the birth of lord Krishna.
The celebration started from midnight as it is in stories that Sri Krishna was born in midnight. From early morning, devotees started to reach the temples to worship the lord.
Especially women who were on fast of 24 hours visited the temples and after worshipping lord Sri Krishna and broke their fast by taking the Prasad. On the occasion of Janmashtmi cultural programmes were organised in many places.
In Madhuban Community Hall of Gwalatoli Krishna Roop Sajja competition was organised for kids up to 14 years. Many took part in this competition and tried their best to impress the judges who judged participants on the basis of their age group, costume and presentation.
