The Gandhian Study Centre for Research at the Jamshedpur Women’s College is organising a seven-day workshop to motivate students about the research methologies.

The aim of the workshop is to guide students on choosing their subjects and motivating them to know the correct process of research and the way to conduct research on any topic they want to choose. The workshop will continue till Aug 30 at the Jamshedpur Women’s College.

“The workshop has been interesting for the participants. This is the second batch of students who will be doing research and write their thesis. Students can choose any subject but preferably looked from the Gandhian point of view. The resource persons from Bihar and other universities will guide the students in the workshop,”said a faculty member of political science at the Jamshedpur Women’s College.

After the students write their thesis, it will be uploaded on the college website with an aim to help the society. The findings of a research on any topic will be uploaded so that others too can get access to the findings and be helpful. Jamshedpur Women’s College had come up with the first Gandhian Study Centre to promote research on the Father of the Nation.

The college offers a one-year MPhil and a three-year (maximum five years) PhD programmes. Gandhian philosophy, politics, economics and education form the broad areas of research. The research centre has been conceived as part of the UGC’s project on “Epoch Making Social Thinkers of India: Buddha, Gandhi, Nehru and Ambedkar”.
