In an effort to uphold and celebrate the Parsi heritage of Jamshedpur, the Steel City is hosting a week-long Parsi Food Festival, from February 25 to March 4. The event is being organised as part of the 175th birth anniversary of Jamsetji Nusserwanji Tata, the founder of Jamshedpur, on March 3.
Situated in the heart of the city, the Boulevard Hotel, is hosting the festival at its Chopstics restaurant.“The Parsi community in Jamshedpur is pretty prominent and, therefore, in an endeavour to celebrate their culture, we have organised a this festival. We have invited the members of the Parsi community and also officials of corporate houses to be a part of the festival,” said Ronald D’costa, proprietor, Boulevard Hotel.
He went on to add that the Chopstics restaurant has hired a specialised Parsi food chef and has also consulted with the local Parsi community while planning the menu and dishes.
The special menu will be available for lunch and dinner on a la carte basis. Guests also have an option of ordering the typically set menu. Some of the dishes to be served are Dhansakh, Pathrani Fish, Red Pumpkin Cutlets, Salli Chicken, Caramel Custard, Crispy Bombay Duck, Ravo and much more.
“Our Parsi Food Festival offers some delicious and authentic Parsi dishes from a variety of Dhansak including Mutton, Chicken, etc to Patra ni Macchi — prepared in authentic style — wherein steamed fish wrapped in banana leaf, and not to forget the favourite dessert Caramel Custard. Along with these exotic recipes and warm hospitality, our hotel will make your meals special and memorable,” said another official.
