Elections are considered to be the biggest festival of democracy and voters are unanimous in the elections, but when the people who are responsible for conducting the election start spreading fear and panic among the voters, then the election will definitely be affected. Hazaribag Sadar MLA Manish Jaiswal said the above things while addressing a press conference in his MLA office auditorium in the city on Friday.
MLA Manish Jaiswal said that during the last three-tier panchayat elections, a new tradition has been started in Hazaribag district. In which action has been taken by the district administration to send 107 notices to the people living in different police station areas of Hazaribag in the light of the report of the concerned police station area, which is unfortunate for democracy. Jaiswal said that usually notice of 107 is sent from time to time to those people who have been involved in criminal or anti-social activities in the past to prevent riots, fights, criminal acts and anti-social acts. But for the first time in Hazaribag, it was seen when the administration took action to send notices of 107 at the time of any election, that too on such people who have neither any case going on in the past nor any proceedings related to the elections are going on.It also includes the names of some elderly people and some women.The administration sending notice of 107 to such innocent people of the area is a mockery of democracy and I strongly oppose this action.
He also said that many cases came to me and when I saw the notice, it seemed to me that it was completely wrong action and panic was being spread among the voters. In this regard, when I tried to know from the concerned police officer reporting that what was the basis of his selection for action 107, I did not get a satisfactory answer.If any kind of survey has been done by the station officers, then who has been asked and what is the relevance of the process of making this list and the legal side must be kept before the public, otherwise this action taken on innocent people by bringing fear to the voters. It is just a malicious attempt to influence the election.I am opposed to this action and will also talk to the Hazaribag Superintendent of Police on this topic.
He further said that I will never tolerate any kind of injustice done to a sensitive public representative and public.Due to the action of 107, there was an atmosphere of panic among the voters concerned in many areas and on whom this action was taken, many people also boycotted the voting.The notice of 107 will be given again and again in various festivals only to those who is in the list, so in such a situation, I would urge the district administration and the police administration that the new tradition of sending unnecessarily 107 notices to innocent people during the election in Hazaribag should be stopped immediately for the future and done on innocent people and also action should be withdrawn.
