For the first time, the Jharkhand Academic Council (JAC) will connect exam centres online to monitor the matriculation and intermediate exams which begin from tomorrow.
“last year we started providing online admit cards. This year we will observe each exam centre from the office itself with the help of CCTV and internet facilities,” JAC Chairman Anand Bhushan said during a media interaction on Saturday.
900 centres are marked for matriculation exam while intermediate examinations will be held at 438 centres. The Council has formed seven teams comprising 15 observers each who are assigned to inspect exam centres in their respective areas.
Notably, the strength of matriculation aspirants is comparatively low this year while that of intermediate is high. “Overall 4,54,833 students are appearing for matriculation. 3,08,766 students are appearing for intermediate examination. There had been around 28,000 student’s increase in intermediate students and slight decrease in matriculation,” said JAC Joint Secretary AK Jha. Among the 24 districts, the least students in both matric and inter exams are appearing from Pakur. Ranchi holds the record of maximum aspirants.
Bhushan said that the mock tests and sample paper solving classes have probably made the students exam-friendly. “Following the steps of CBSE, we have put best efforts to improve the performance of students in this session. We are confident that most of the students will pass with good marks,” he added.
The Council has also directed District Education Officers to take care of physically challenged students. Jha said one standard junior will be provided to disabled students for writing the answers of the exam questionnaire.
Bhushan and his officials would be inspecting some of the exam centres to observe the environment. Prior to the exam, students will be given extra 15 minutes for going through the questions. Matric exams are concluding on March 2 while the inter exams are concluding on March 10.
