JAC mulls promotion of best schools

Published on:

The Jharkhand Academic Council (JAC) is planning to promote its best schools — Netarhat Residential School and Indira Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya. The initiative is being taken due to the low turnout of students in the entrance exam for these two schools held in May every year. “Entrance exam for Class-VI is conducted for both these boarding schools having a record of producing maximum matriculation toppers.

Thousands of students apply for the exam form but few of them appear for the entrance exam. So, we have decided to request Education Secretary for encouraging such students and their parents in all the districts,” said JAC Joint Secretary AK Jha. JAC Chairperson Anand Bhushan will soon send a letter to Education Secretary Aradhana Patnaik for motivating top three Class-V students of each Government school to appear in the entrance exam of these two schools.

The decision was taken during a workshop of District Education Officers (DEOs) on Monday. DEOs have pledged to conduct the upcoming matric and intermediate exam smoothly.
