The Income Tax Department on Wednesday conducted survey on at least 8 locations of Panjab Sweet House, State’s largest group of hotels and restaurants, including Capitol Hill, Capital Residency, Kathi Kabaab, Keveri Restaurants and other establishments owned by it. The survey, which was started in the evening continued till late night.
Sources in the Income Tax department confirmed the survey and said that they were looking into the balance sheet and other documents related to transaction done by them during the last few months.
A team of more than 75 Income Tax officials, under the leadership of Assistant Commissioner Bhawna Gulati, have been conducting the survey on at least 8 locations of the establishments owned by Bhatia family. This is for the first time that the IT has conducted survey on Bhatia Group, which is one of the oldest in the Capital City.
