Chief Secretary Rajbala Verma said on Saturday that the State was heading towards becoming IT hub in country and proposed Information Technology (IT) hub would attract investment of some Rs 1,000 crores. She said while visiting to the newly constructed Sahkarita Bhawan in Namkum area that the hub on which works would start in September this year, is expected to create at least 5,000 new job opportunities.

Verma also met representatives of nine companies which are gearing up to bring their set-up in the State with offices in Sahkarita Bhawan, the five-storey mega construction on 1.65 acre land having 26 rooms along with a conference hall on every floor.

Representatives of Ison BPO india private limited, Connect3 globle solution private limited, ARF designs private limited, Global business incubators India private limited, IB hubs ibuild innovations India limited, Incube venturs private limited, Tatwa technologies and Experience zone accompanied the CS on her way to visit the newly constructed building where finishing works are still on.

“The government is providing them office space in the newly constructed Sahkarita Bhawan in September. With these companies initiating work, the IT and agro sector of the state will gain momentum. It will be an important step in the direction of connecting government schemes with IT,” added Verma.

The CS added that that better ambience was being provided for industrialization which even the investors had been appreciating. “We are doing better in Ease of Doing Business. Many steps have been taken to provide land for generating employment and gear up industrialization in the state after the Momentum Jharkhand summit,” said Verma where Mining and Industry Department Secretary Sunil Kumar Barnwal, IT Department Secretary Satyendra Singh, Agriculture and Cooperatives Department Secretary Pooja Singhal, Revenue Director K Sriniwasan, IT Director UP Sah and many other officials were also present.

The CS directed the IT and other related departments to provide office space in newly constructed cooperative building. She asked officials to sit with the company representatives and provide them space and other amenities provided by government. “The driveway to the building should be made better and football ground should be developed,” said the CS.

Notably, the government has been trying to woo IT companies so that these companies not only invest in skill development programmes, but would also help government take its development related programmes in rural areas easily. Taking company representatives to newly constructed building is also been seen as its effort to take them in confidence as far as government’s readiness in bringing investment in the State is concerned.
