“I have had my share of struggle in the city of dreams. Being a non-filmy background was a challenge but I believed in my dreams. I attended several rounds of auditions. Standing in queue, I could see much prettier girls than me trying their luck but this didn’t deter my spirit. I gave my best and bagged the role,” recollected Coral.
A student of Scared Heart Convent School, Coral moved to Bangalore for higher studies. After her graduation from Natya Institute of Kathak and Choreography, she headed for Mumbai.
“Let me share something unique about me. I started as a dancer. Before an actor I am a dancer at core of my heart. From school to college life, I participated in several events and showcased my dancing skills. This helped me face audience and prove my worth,” recalled the young actor, who has oodles of confidence.
After setting her foot in Mumbai, she joined Anupam Kher’s school for actors. “During the course, there was a time in my life I realised my objectives. I was meant to be in front of the camera which led to my moving to Mumbai, and it was not as easy as I thought,” she said. After completion acting school, Bhamra started participating in different auditions. During these years, she did web series and later bagged a role in ‘Kundali Bhagya’.
“I am really satisfied with the way things have moved. My parents have been very supportive. I would like to explore more into acting. I want to prove myself as an actor on different platforms,” said Coral.
Her father Ravi Bhamra is a businessman and mother Neelu Bhamra is beautician. The family stays at Mango.
Sharing her share of experience so far Coral said Mumbai has been idolised as the quintessential city of dreams and dream-makers. But there's a price to be paid – learning to live in small spaces, travelling crazy distances or trying to fit into its cosmopolitan culture.
“I am happy the way things have moved. I believe in what Paulo Coelho says in The Alchemist: ‘When you want something, all the universe conspires in helping you to achieve it.' I have always worked on my dreams,” she said.
