International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON) is struggling hard to get land for its proposed temple of lord Krishna at Chandankiyari in Bokaro district since past couple of years. We are running from pillar to post to get the land. We are ready; the construction work will be started as soon as we get the land, said Jagannath Das in-charge of ISKCON Bokaro.
With an estimated cost of Rs 35 crore a grand temple of lord Krishna is proposed at Chandankiyari at Bokaro district which will be a gateway for pilgrims across the world, he said.
“This will give a strong boost to tourism in the state too,” added Das.
This temple will be commissioned by ISKCON on 11 acres of land, informed Das. Earlier the society (ISKCON) had demanded 100 acres of land for their purposes but presently government has given nod for only 11 acres of land in the first phase on which a temple and a sheds for 300 cows, he said. This would be the 27 ISKCON temples; the society will also establish a hospital, school, community hall, marriage hall, small-scale industries and training centers here, he said. ISKCON Society will allow land near Gawai River at Chandankiyari; the land will be transferred to the society soon after the approval of the cabinet, said Buari
