Stunned over the rape of a minor girl on Panchayat’s absurd diktat villagers demanded immediate arrest of all Panchyat members (who were present during the diktat) in Gulgulia village, Swang under Gomia police station Bokaro in Jharkhand.
Though the villagers were silent at the time when Ghoshal Pasi, Mukhiya of the Panchyat issued the diktat but day after the incident locals started raising their voice condemning the incident. Villages repented and demanded arrest of all panchyat members at the earliest.Gopal Pasi has a criminal tendency, he threatens us for dire consequences if we go against his decisions. So we all kept mum and did not dare to go against Pasi, said a villager.
“It was an atrocious act and we all are guilty for the rape of the minor,” he added. Now we have decided not to support or obey such heinous diktat and up our arms against it, said another villager. Notably after the panchayat’s diktat a minor was raped just because her brother allegedly molested a woman who was the daughter of the Panchayat Mukhiya. On Monday the minor girl was raped by Nakabandi Pasi, whose wife was allegedly molested by Harender Pasi the brother of the victim.
After the incident the Mukhia issued a diktat to rape a girl form Harender’s family in the presence of other villagers. The minor was forcibly pulled from her house and raped by Nakabani Pasi, police said.later on the complaint of Munna Pasi the father of the victim police arrested three on Tuesday.
