Suspected terrorist, Intezar Ali, has been sent on a three-day remand by a local Railway Court as the Government Railway Police produced the resident of Mujahidnagar under Hindpidhi PS in the court on Saturday. The GRP had requested a five-day remand to interrogate the suspected terrorist arrested from a Ranchi-bound train on August 20.
Ali who is presently under the GRP's custody will be interrogated by a team of National Investigating Agency for the motive behind transporting explosives into the capital. However, it is still unclear when the premier investigating agency will get the custody of the suspected terrorist.
Police had nabbed Ali in a raid conducted in the Burdwan-Hatia Passenger train at Kita on August 20 and found around half a kg of explosive claimed as RDX, six country-made bombs, six timers, 24 gelatin sticks, four kg of urea and 250 gms of sulphur. The explosives were being transported from Burdwan (West Bengal) to Ranchi, said a source in the GRP. Subsequently, raids were also conducted at his house and seized computer and articles from the house.
