Interstate football tournament in Daltonganj has been cancelled, said Vibhakar Narain Pandey, one of the patrons of the organising committee of this tournament.
Pandey said this tournament was to start from April 4 which would have gone up to April 12. He said this tournament was in the memory of martyred cops here. Nine states were to play this tournament, he said.
President of the organizing committee Sanjeev Kumar, who is SP Palamau said the eruption of cases of the Coronavirus has forced us to shut this tournament before the start.
He said it was to be held in the police line Daltonganj stadium which was again a matter of concern as in the event of any one going Coronavirus positive would have plunged this police line into a consignment zone which we could not even afford at all.
Pandey said there was one girls football match too listed during this tournament which has also been scrapped.
