Taking note of the ‘out of pattern’ computer science question paper which led to an untoward episode among intermediate students at Doranda College on March 7, Jharkhand Academic Council (JAC) has prepared an expert report to evaluate the answer sheets accordingly. JAC chairperson Anand Bhushan shared this information on Thursday when the intermediate examination of this session concluded.
According to sources, majority of intermediate aspirants have failed to perform well in this particular subject examination due to this ‘out of syllabus’ question paper. “The questions were not out of syllabus but they were tricky of course. Due to this reason students were unable to answer. We have taken a detail report of this matter and have decided to check the answers on some kind of consideration,” Bhushan said.
Also, Bhushan said that the entire examination was conducted smoothly besides this ‘tension’. As many as 299329 students had appeared across 408 centres of the State. Both matriculation and intermediate examinations started from February 21. Matriculation exam had concluded last Friday. As many as 480628 students had appeared for this board exam in 895 centres. Bhushan informed that the evaluation of matric exam will begin from March 31. He said, “On March 14, a meeting between District Education Officers and Centre Director has been called to discuss the copy checking techniques of matric answer sheets.”
In the present scenario, JAC officials have begun collecting the answer sheets of intermediate examinations. “list of the teachers who would evaluate these copies is being prepared,” maintained a staff. The JAC Chairman had earlier indicated that the question papers were made in such a way that teachers will be bound to follow step marking process. This year there was an increase of 35,000 students in matric and 8000 in inter.
For the first time ever, JAC had introduced the option of downloading online admit cards for matric as well as for inter examinations. From next session onwards the Council will organise five mock tests for matriculation and intermediate appearing students. The mock test concept was launched in 2012-13 session. Since then the council conducts two mock tests.
