Chief Minister Raghubar Das, in order to set up a simplified and transparent mining process, has directed the officials to develop Jharkhand Integrated Mines and Minerals Management System in the State. Justifying the need for the system, the CM said that the information based system would ease the supervision process and revenue collection apart from checking illegal mining.
The CM said that by adopting the electronic system all the information about lease holders can be computerised and they can use e-permit, challans and in the process irregularities taking place in transportation of minerals can largely be curbed. “The system would bring efficiency, transparency and easiness in mineral administration and help in monitoring all district mining offices, deputy directorate offices of mining and headquarters. lease holders can also get permits etc online and taxes can be deposited without any hassle,” said the CM. Presently, the Mines and Minerals Department does not have a separate system and lease holder have to go through Commercial Taxes site to get challan and permit generated. Information Technology Department has initiated action on this line after the CM’s directive.
