Festival special trains operating
A number of festival special trains will be operational from October 20, 2020 in view of the possible additional rush of passengers during the upcoming Puja. The trains include Jayanagar-Sealdah-Jayanagar, Howrah-Raxaul-Howrah Festival Special, Howrah-Kathgodam-Howrah Festival Special, Howrah-Jammutavi-Howrah Festival Special among others. In addition to the above mentioned trains, many more Festival Specials will be operated for East Central Railway.
Sahay tweets on TV journalism
Former Union Minister and senior Congress leader Subodh Kant Sahay tweeted on TV channel journalism, "The history of Indian Journalism was that they were the voice of common man but the emergence of some people targeting only TRP ratings have changed the language and grammar of journalism. Hoping SC will take a very strict stand and it becomes a turning point on this unbridled journalism. I fully agree with Attorney General KK Venugopal that there is an urgent need to strike a balance between freedom of speech and contempt of court as the media was foraying into forbidden territory. Some news anchors behave like gods, as if they know all the facts, but the fact is that they are a means of propagating the voice and agenda of a certain party under the garb of freedom of speech.”
NCL CMD, Director (Pers) visit HEC
PK Sinha CMD (NCL), Bimlendu Kumar Director Personnel (NCL) and other dignitaries of NCL visited HEC on Wednesday. All three functional directors of HEC, Arundati Panda (Director Finance), M K Saxena (Director Personal) and Dr. Rana S Chakravarty Director (Marketing and Production) along with all Chief of Plants, Chief of Project & other Senior Officers of HEC were present in this high level discussion with NCL delegates. Various ongoing projects were discussed in detail during the course of the meeting. CMD (NCL) also congratulated HEC for bagging recent order of New Coal handling project (Block-B) which has an approximate value of Rs. 167 Cr.
BSL contract worker dies
Dilip Manjhi, a contract worker engaged by M/s Janta Construction who was injured in an accident in SMS-2-CCS of Bokaro Steel Plant (BSL) on 6th October succumbed to his injuries on Wednesday at Bokaro General Hospital (BGH) where he was undergoing treatment. Unfortunately, despite the best efforts of the doctors at BGH, he could not be saved. An Assurance Letter for appointment has been issued to the next of kin of the deceased by BSL management as immediate response. BSL is committed to ensure safety of all employees and contract workers in the plant.
Blood Donation Camp
A Blood Donation Camp was organised by three female entrepreneurs of One family on October 13. Kanika Malhotra, Founder and HR Consultant from ileadHR, Divya Malhotra, Founder and Fitness Coach from Yes to Fit and Isha Malhotra, Make-up Artist had organized a Blood Donation Camp at Malhotra House, North Office Para, Doranda from 10:00 am to 5:30 pm. The camp was organized for the thalassemia children who require blood in every 15 days. The camp was organized with the support of Life Savers and Sadar Hospital. Total 37 units were collected during the camp. Akshay Malhotra and their employees from Kashmir Vastralaya Collection also volunteered and joined hand in this cause.
58-year-old covid Patient recovers
Gleneagles Global Health City has successfully treated a 58 years old patient from Chennai who was detected with post-COVID Respiratory failure. This is the first successful post-COVID respiratory failure treatment through ECMO (Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation) in TN. The team of medical experts spearheaded by Dr Govini Balasubramanian, Dr Subramanian Swaminathan, Dr Rajavel, Dr Sivasailam & Dr Suresh aided in the incredible recovery of this patient to a stable condition. The patient was healthy and without any co-morbidities in the initial phase of contracting the virus. A few days later, he developed fever and breathing difficulty and underwent treatment for severe COVID in a neighbourhood hospital for 14 days. After a couple of weeks of COVID treatment, his blood oxygen levels continued to drop below a critical level and he was referred to Gleneagles Global Health City for progressive respiratory failure and severe lung injury.
