Ranchi gets 8 Covid sample collection centres
The Ranchi district administration on Thursday inaugurated a static Covid sample collection centre. Ranchi deputy commissioner Chhavi Ranjan along with other senior government officials visited eight places where the sample collection centres have been set up. The eight places where the sample collection centres have been set up are at Zila School, CMPDI, Swagat Banquet hall Harmu, Chutia and other places.
Corona test at commercial, residential high-rises
Dhanbad district administration has decided to hold corona tests at residential and commercial high- rise buildings to break the chain of Corona. Dhanbad deputy commissioner Uma Shankar Singh on Thursday held a meeting with builders and business community for seeking support for the drive. He said around 5000 tests are to be conducted at designated locations in urban areas. He informed that the prevalence rate in Dhanbad varied between two and three per cent.

SAIL achieves highest ever August Sales
Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL) posted its best ever August sales performance during August 2020 at 14.34 Lakh tonnes. Post the COVID-19 related lockdown, the Company has been witnessing an impressive sales performance which started in June’20. The sales in August have grown significantly by 35 per cent over 10.60 lakh tonnes achieved in August 2019. SAIL’s domestic sales and exports have been at 12.40 Lakh Tonnes and 1.94 Lakh Tonnes registering a growth of 23 per cent and 250 per cent respectively.
Extension of Exam special trains
For the convenience of students joining JEE mains, NEET and NDA, 20 pairs of MEMU/DEMU Special and 08 pairs of Intercity Special trains are being operated. In view of the convenience of the students, the train number 03261/03262 running between Fatuha and Buxar will be operated between Islampur and Buxar by expanding the operation of Fatuha-Buxar-Fatuha Memu Special. Train number 05713/05714 running between Katihar and Patna Katihar-Patna-Katihar Intercity Special will now stop at Narayanpur station in addition to the earlier stoppage.

During the meeting it was informed that Railways was set to offer reliable, fast, affordable and easy to handle parcel services for logistics / courier agencies. The meeting was called to discuss and explore the possibilities of expanding the business of private parcel services through Indian Railways.
