Kashyap eye hospital helps return vision of 3 babies
Ranchi: Three premature babies, who were gradually losing their eyesight, were able to get their vision back with the help of Kashyap Memorial Eye Hospital and Marwari Mahila Samaj. The children were in immediate need of Anti Veg-injection which was provided to them by the Hospital. Anu Poddar of Marwari Mahila Samaj handed over a sum or Rs 41,000 to the hospital for the same. Praising, Poddar, Dr. Bharti Kashyap of the hospital said, "It is good to see that women are coming forward for such cause."
Workshop on science filmmaking at BIT
Ranchi: Birla Institute of Technology (BIT), Mesra, organised a national workshop on Science Filmmaking from March 24 to 26 in Seminar Hall 1 in association with Vigyan Prasar, Department of Science and Technology, Government of India. The first day of the event on Sunday witnessed a series of lectures which provided on-hand experience to the attendees. Priyank Kumar, Asst. Professor, Dept. of Space Engineering & Rocketry, BIT Mesra & Faculty Advisor of Photographic Society welcomed all the chief guests in his inaugural speech. The first day of this workshop saw great enthusiasm among the participants as they seemed excited for the upcoming days of the workshop. A brief about the workshop was explained by Mr. Nimish Kapoor who is the Scientist & Head, Science Films’ Division, Vigyan Prasar.
SDO inspects restaurant in Kanke Road, finds rule violations
Ranchi: Sub-divisional officer, Garima Singh, went on a surprise inspection at O'Dam restaurant situated at Kanke Road on Sunday to inspect the quality of food and others. During the raid, the cottage cheese being used at the restaurant turned out to be spoilt. The SDO also found that the restaurant was functioning without GST despite having a turnover of more than Rs 40 lakh. Also, she found that the staff was being paid in cash with a motive to hide the real income of the restaurant. Singh said, "The sample of cottage cheese has been sent to the lab for testing. Also, the income tax and sales department will be directed to issue a show cause notice against the restaurant."
