Jury leader, RP Tyagi  also  gave away certificates of participation  to  the remaining project teams. He appreciated the efforts that schools are making  in performance  improvement. He added that emphasis of education should be not only academics but character and values as well.  It was encouraging to see the efforts made by schools in Jamshedpur in this direction. He also stressed the need for the schools of Jamshedpur to work hand in hand with rural schools to bring them up.

EQUIP was  initiated in 2010 to help schools identify and work on  improvement areas. More than 50% of the participating schools have been reporting EQUIPs since then. Improvement projects are reported under three types- Innovation, Problem Solving and Executing Task. This year, the improvement projects also include those which are adapted from other schools. Since 2010,  a cumulative total of over 259  improvement projects have been submitted so far involving 1200 teachers.

What is noteworthy is that  here is greater focus on projects related to  'teaching methods' , 'learning process' and 'leveraging IT in school functions'.  Other projects are related with Safety, Student Assessment, Health & hygiene, Ethics and Counselling, School Discipline, Developing  Student Allround ability , etc.
