A change in the weather conditions with light rain in various parts of the State is being predicted from Sunday onwards while from mid next week the minimum temperature is expected to come down by two to four degree Celsius.
On December 8 the eastern parts of the State and its adjoining central and northern areas will receive rain along with thunderstorm and lighting. For December 9, apart from the north eastern parts of Jharkhand, the rest of the State is likely to witness light to moderate rain.
“The reason for this rain is the presence of western disturbances in the north western parts of the country. Due to this, a cyclonic circulation which is moving towards Jharkhand is attracting moisture from the Bay of Bengal and is expected to bring some rain in most parts of the State. The maximum temperature will drop by two to three degrees while the minimum temperature will rise by two to four degree Celsius,” said Director MET Centre, Ranchi Abhishek Anand.
On December 8, light rain is predicted for Palamu, Garhwa, Chatra, Latehar, Koderma, Hazaribagh, Lohardaga, Ranchi, Gumla and Simdega while on December 9 the effect of the western disturbance will be seen in Sahibganj, Pakur, Dumka, Godda, Deoghar, Jamtara, Dhanbad, Giridih, Koderma, Hazaribagh, Bokaro, Ramgarh, Lohardaga, Gumla, Ranchi, Khunti, Simdega, East Singhbhum and West Singhbhum as these places are likely to receive light showers.
From December 10, as the clouds are expected to clear a drop in the nighttime temperature levels is also being predicted. The minimum temperature is likely to drop by two to four degrees. There are also chances of dense fog in the early morning hours.
As per the data shared by the MET Centre, Ranchi on Saturday evening, the lowest temperature in the State was recorded in Garhwa at 7.6 degree Celsius while the maximum temperature was observed at Saraikela at 30.9 degree Celsius. The State capital was recorded one notch below normal at 9.8 degree Celsius while Bokaro was 3.2 degrees below normal at 9.5 degree Celsius.
Farmers across the State are advised to either move their crops to safe places or make adequate arrangements to cover it in order to prevent any damage. In the fluctuating weather, it is also advised to be extra cautious for senior citizens and children.
