Acting on a tip-off, Lokaynaranpur police in Giridih district intercepted and searched a Bolero pickup bearing number BR 53-3029 and recovered 6 cartons of English illegal liquor.
In this connection four persons have been arrested. The apprehended persons have been identified as Sonu Kumar, Ravindra Kumar, Chandan Kumar and Chhotu Kumar of Lakhisarai in Bihar, Circle Inspector Prameshwar Liyangi said.
In this regard, legal action is being taken by registering a case at Lokaynarayanpur Police Station under Case No. 12/11under Section 272, 273,414, 34 of IPC and 47A Excise Act.
The operation was conducted on the directives of the superintendent of police Amit Renu to check illegal wine business including, buying and stocking, in various parts within the jurisdictions of different police stations of Giridih.
According to reports one bolero jeep ferrying illegally caught by a police team (Lokaynarayanpur PS) at Chowk area on Friday morning.
The illegal foreign wine were loaded in the jeep and was on way to Bihar and later were being transported to different places of Bihar. Meanwhile, police on Friday have seized 6 cartoons with illegal foreign liquor of Imperial Blue conducting a drive in the locality,said CI, Prameshwar Liyangi.
