The Chanderpura Police on Thursday raided an illegal den at Taranari village in Chanderpura block, Bokaro district and seized liquor worth Rs4 lakh. Four persons — identified as SahdeoBarnawal, Dinesh Barnawal, Chandan Singh and Yogendra Mahto — were arrested in the raid.
The raid was conducted by Chanderpura police station in charge Banarasi Prasad along with Dhanajay Panday, Nawal Kishor Singh around 9pm, following a tip off.
Sahdeo Barnawal, who was also arrested, helped them seize 35 cartons of different beers and five packs of Officer’s Choice.
Sources said, the liquor was seized while it was being smuggled at Chanderpura –Dhanbad road near Telitard village.
According to Bermo Deputy Superintendent of Police Manoj Rai, a police team, led by officer-in charge Baranasi Prasad, was deployed near Taranari area for checking vehicles. After a few hours two cars were seen coming from Chanderpura. But suddenly both the vehicles stopped a little distance away from the police and four persons hurriedly ran away.
