For the residents of Dhurwa, foul smell, contaminated air, and garbage dump has become a routine affair. The continuous dumping of garbage from all over Ranchi at Sahid Maidan in Dhurwa, has made the locality condition worst. The present scenario is now that heap of garbage has covered the road and also adversely affecting the health of Vivekananda School students which is at a distance of less than 100 metre from the dumping ground.

It is getting difficult for the residents to even pass from this ground because of stinking smell. I had call several times to officials of Ranchi Municipal Corporation (RMC) but my calls were never answered. Even contacted with Pollution Control Board for the above mentioned problem but they had asked to submit a written complain first then only will take any action on it. Despite giving them written complain no action has been taken by them till date.”

Vivekananda School Principal Samardeep Jana said, “The condition is this that one cannot see desk and bench of the school as it covered with flies. Many of my students’ health are affected by it more over teaching within the class is also getting difficult because of foul smell.”
