The Urban Development and Housing Department and The Tata Enterprises' subsidiary ‘The Indian Hotels Company Limited’ today inked an MoU for construction of Taj Hotel in Ranchi. The Hotel will be constructed on 6 acres on land in Dhurwa area of the city, which will be given on lease to TIHCL.
Addressing the gathering on the occasion, Chief Minister Hemant Soren said that the government wants to create such a system in the state where we can give a new identity to Jharkhand. Today is going to be a very historic and pleasant experience. This pleasant experience will increase further when the Taj Hotel will be dedicated to the people of the state. The establishment of Taj Hotel will promote tourism development, which will give Jharkhand global recognition, he said.
The CM said that Jharkhand is known all over the world for its mineral resources, but apart from minerals, there are many other resources here, which are enough to take this state forward. But, perhaps policies were not made that could accelerate development in Jharkhand through these resources. We have been regretting this from the beginning, but now the government is moving ahead from this and working with full force to give a new direction to the state and its encouraging results are also being seen.
The CM said that a large number of people migrate from Jharkhand to the country and abroad for employment. If someone goes out for better employment and a better life, then there is no harm in it. But I want to say that if employment related policies are made and implemented in a better way in this state, then the youth will not need to migrate from here for employment. Our government is committed to providing employment to the youth in our own state.
The CM said that I often visit other states for government programs and personal reasons. I also participate in many programs and activities there. There is an opportunity to know and understand a lot. I believe that if the good things of others are good for our system, then it should definitely be adopted. This will pave the way to provide better facilities to the state and its people and take it forward.
Soren said that Jharkhand's relationship with the Tata Group is very old. This relationship has been going on for more than 100 years. During this time, the Tata Group has been playing an important role in the development of Jharkhand through industrial and other means. We can strengthen this relationship even more when we can strengthen this relationship with the people of the state as well. Regarding this years-old relationship, I can with full authority ask the Tata Group to give priority to the interests of the people of the state. The Tata Group is also well aware of this and will fully cooperate in this.
The CM said that many units of the Tata Group have been established here for years. Lakhs of people have got employment in these units and establishments. This group is coming forward to establish many more enterprises here. In such a situation, the state government is ready to walk hand in hand with this group. With the participation of all of us, we will be able to bring Jharkhand into the category of leading states.
The CM said that the way Tata has played an important role in taking the country forward. Similarly, the country cannot move forward without Jharkhand. If Jharkhand stops its hands, its effect can be seen on the country's economy. But our government thinks of taking the country forward along with everyone and this state is contributing fully in this.
