MECON lIMITED received Institution of Engineers (India) Industry Excellence Award 2017 for demonstrating highest order of business excellence in providing Engineering services and consultancy during 32nd Indian Engineering Congress, held at Chennai.
The award was conferred by The Institution of Engineers (India), established in 1920 by The Royal Charter. On behalf of CMD, MECON, the trophy as well as certificate, were received by Gautam Chakraborty, Executive Director and Sanjay Sen, General Manager.
In the Engineering Congress, MECON Engineers also marked their presence by receiving awards in various categories. Dr. Subir Bhattacharya, Sanjay Sen, UK Vishwakarma, and M R Kumar bagged, SAIl Award for the year 2017, consisting of gold medal and certificate. The Award was conferred for their published research paper on "Growth of India's Steel Sector Amidst Global Over capacity: Challenges for 300 MT Steel Vision".
MECON Engineers were also conferred "First Best Paper Award" for a paper in Hindi language titled "Dhamanbhatti me Koyla-Dhool-Kshepan (Coal Dust Injection): Ek Vivechan". The paper was published in Abhiyanta Bandhu, which is an annual journal published by The Institution of Engineers (India) to promote technical & engineering knowledge in regional languages. The Authors were from Iron Making Division of MECON, Ranchi, namely, Sajal K Bhattacherjee (Joint General Manager), MR Kumar, (Asst. General Manager), Manoj Kumar Yadav (Sr. Design Engineer) and Ravi Sekhar Sinha (Sr. Design Engineer).
The closing ceremony of the three days Engineering Congress was presided by President of India, Ram Nath Kovind as the Chief Guest.
