A meeting of police officials of North Chotanagpur Division took place in the meeting hall of divisional office here on Wednesday. ADG CID Ajay Kumar, DIG Umesh Kumar and DIG Sampat Meena were present in this meeting.
In this meeting discussions were made on the identification and actions taken against the hardcore Maoists in different districts. The senior officials not only reviewed the progress of the work of identification but also gave instruction to the officials to prepare cases against those in such a way that they do not get relief from any court of law easily.
The officials also directed the officials to speed up the work of identification of hardcore’s of their area having long criminal records and to complete the investigation of pending cases against them without any delay so that government can also take action against them.
The performance of some districts regarding identification of hardcore’s and investigations of the cases pending against them was not up to mark and the senior officials specially ADG Ajay Kumar took it seriously and directed the concerned district police officials to take care of this directive of the state government and to improve the performance as soon as possible.
Talking to newsmen ADG Ajay Kumar said that government has directed the department to make a list of hardcore Maoists active in the state so that suitable action can be taken as per law. Kumar informed that 24 districts of the state had so far sent the names of 240 hardcore’s and out of these 240 named hardcore’s many has been sent behind the bars.
