Opposing the government move to privatise IDBI Bank, the employees have given a call for nation-wide strike on 27 November.

The United Forum of IDBI Bank Employees and Officer’s Association has given a call for nation wide strike as the government has decided to dilute its shareholding in the IDBI Bank to below 51 per cent, said Rahu Anand Branch Head of IDBI Bank Bokaro.

“We as a responsible working class trade union of the country, decided to protect public money from falling into hands of a few individuals”, he said.

“Our demand for Government is to maintain at least 51 percent share holding at all time so that the bank remains under the purview of the CBI”, said Poonam Assistant Manager of the Bank.

She urged form the customers to support us (bank employees) in protecting the customer’s hard earned money and for the financial independence of the country. “Seeing one day strike, pleas plan your transaction accordingly to avoid inconvenience”, added Poonam.
