The Foundation day of Indian Confederation of Labour, which was formed in1982 at Kolkata was celebrated here on December 18. In the 12th General Congress of ICL the members officially started the program here at Jharkhand Vidhan Sabha by remembering their beloved mentor Ashok Bhattacharjee, who was the Founder of ICL. In continuation to the CWC meeting at Hot lips Auditorium at Kanke Road Ranchi, the newly elected National President Ajay Kumar Roy hoisted the official flag. National anthem was sung and ICL slogans were also raised.

A gathering of more than 200 people along with leaders from different states from India (Jharkhand, Odisha, Delhi, Maharastra , Tamilnadu) and some of the eminent leaders from Rajastan and other international locations joined this grand meeting from international locations by video conferencing system. Ranchi MLA and former Minister C P Singh was the Chief Guest on the occasion.

Ajay kumar Roy in his speech conveyed his message, “In the honour of our beloved late Ashok Bhatacharjee, I on behalf of organization convey my message that the scheduled destination (Jharkhand Assembly Club Auditorium) for this open session on 18th December 2020 has been named as Ashok Bhattacharjee Memorial Hall.”

He profoundly declared, “When we come to this federation and Trade union activity then we are always very much grateful to WOW- Asia and eminent person none-other than Sister Necie M. Lucero ( President, WOW-Asia). We all must unanimously say that because of WOW-Asia and Sister Necei , we raised this meeting to a successful note. Sister Necei had given her consent to be the part of this meeting through VC, but due to some urgent work she didn’t turn up. However, she has felt her gratitude and given us best wishes.”

Late Ashok Bhattacharjee was the Founder of this federation. Profound knowledge in all India trade union concept, vast experience and pleasing personality enabled him to attract top class leaders across Indian states. Irrespective of genders, caste and creed , he always gave his opinion that a leader must be a qualitative resource who can independently attach themselves with common people and for a larger interest must think about the country first, then the organization and lastly about their personal life. Vision, mission and goal of one true leader should be based on the common people's objectives and aspirations.
