After the Itkhori incident, SP Akhilesh Jha has directed the officer in-charge of every police station in Hazairbagh to remain alert. He has especially directed to the OICs of police stations at the border of the district to seal the borders and to activate their sources of information so that the Naxals cannot dare to repeat their action in the district.
Following the instruction, Hazaribagh police have intensidfied patrolling in the sensitive areas. According to sources the police are keeping a close eye on the borders. Cross checking of information gathered at different police stations is going on at the headquarters on priority basis.
On Friday the entire police department remained disturbed after getting information of activities of a Naxal group in Charhi forest. After the tip-off, police teams led by DSP Arvind Kumar Singh and Muffasil OIC Neeraj Kumar rushed to the Charhi forest and searched area for over 6 hours.
DSP Arvind Kumar Singh said that police got information about the presence of some Naxal cadres in the Charhi forest area. “We searched the entire forest but no Naxal was found, he added.
