As per the directions of Deputy Commissioner Sunil Kumar, Sub-Divisional Officer Sandeep Kumar, along with others, spent hours in the lake area to identify the encroachments.
The team led by SDO Sandeep Kumar measured the entire area of all the three lakes of Hazaribagh according to the old papers available in local collectorate. They also measured the areas of local Central Jail which is adjacent to the lake.
After measurement it was found that the Jail Superintendent residence has encroached about 2 acres land of the biggest lake. On this encroached area Jail Superintendents till now were using as backyard vegetable garden. The team also identified one entire house, a drain and a complete road built on smallest lake land.
The team on Saturday marked the area of the lakes and has ordered to remove the encroachment within 48 hours. Meanwhile, the district administration has appealed to the denizens of Hazaribagh to come to enjoy and see their lake in new beautified look on Sunday 25th January which is going to be observed as ‘Jheel Diwas’.
