Amid continuing exercises for Government formation, Governor Syed Ahmed said he would be a happy man if any party comes forward. He also made it clear that President’s Rule was just an option in democracy.
“I am of firm belief that only elected representatives should run the system in a democracy. If someone is willing to take the effort and form a Government, then there is no problem,” said Ahmed.
When asked about how long he would keep the Assembly in suspended animation, Ahmed said till Government was not formed. “let somebody be prepared. I will wait till then,” he replied.
The Congress and JMM are apparently in a huddle to form an alliance and stake claim but the situation is still uncertain. The Governor recollected lack of coordination between the BJP and JMM resulted in fall of a popular Government.
