United Opposition, over the controversies surrounding Chief Secretary Rajbala Verma and DGP DK Pandey, has sent the ruling alliance into a tizzy ahead of the Budget Session of the Assembly beginning Wednesday. NDA led by the BJP will sit on Wednesday where strategies to downgrade the scathing attack coming will be discussed in details.
Sources in the NDA said that the issues will remain the main talking points besides the ways to utilise most of the time of the Session for completing business of the Government.
“We are well prepared to deal with the situation. looking at their attitude they are sure to disrupt even the ceremonial address of the Governor tomorrow. Fact of the matter is the Chief Minister has asked the Chief Secretary to explain and a time has been given to her which is yet to be over. It defies any logic that anyone should go for her head before that,” said a BJP legislator.
It is learnt that the ruling MlAs have been told to go all out against the tirade coming from the parties like the JMM, the Congress and the JVM inside the House. “We are not going to buckle down under pressure. The Opposition has been doing this for last over one year over one issue or another. This time they have found a new issue. Their tactics are clear and we would respond in befitting manner,” said a senior BJP leader revealing the strategy.
On the other Opposition leaders such as JVM supremo Babulal Marandi and MlA Pradeep Yadav, Congress legislative Party leader Alamgir Alam, JMM’s Kunal Sarangi, CPI’s Bhubneswar Mehta and other leaders in the form of a delegation called on Governor Droupadi Murmu demanding removal of the top officials. A memorandum presented by them stated the probing agency into the Fodder Scam case had held her responsible for embezzlement of funds. “Despite several reminders issued she has not replied so far. The Government has been forced to issue notice to her under pressure that is yet to be replied. Similar is the case with the DGP who has been named by ADG MV Rao in his letter into the Bakoria fake encounter. ADG Anurag Gupta is also continuing despite EC instructing Government to indict him in the horse trading case. No action has been taken by the Government.
