House panel nails Sadar Hospital civil surgeon's lies

A team of legislators of Jharkhand Assembly and officials of Jharkhand Government visited Sadar Hospital, Hazaribagh to cross-check the information provided to them by Civil Surgeon, Hazaribagh. The team headed by MlA Chaibasha, Deepak Birua, found that the 11 out of 12 information given by CS are false.

Some days ago, the panchayati raj and district board committee of Jharkhand assembly had visited Hazaribagh. At that time, the team failed to visit Sadar Hospital, but the members called Civil Surgeon in Circuit House and sought some information.

Civil Surgeon Hazaribagh sent point wise information of all the 12 questions demanded by the committee. After getting the reply, committee members MlA Deepak Birua, MlA Janki Yadav, Additional Secretary Vishnu Paswan and DDC Hazaribagh Rajkumar Choudhary made a surprise visit of Sadar Hospital to cross-check the information-cum-answers given by CS.

During this surprise visit, the team found that only one answer given by civil surgeon that x-ray machine of the hospital is working was correct and all other 11 information-cum-answers were incorrect. Neither the ultrasound machine was working nor the lift. Shortage of medicines was found in store. The poor condition of wards, non-availability of warmer in pediatrics ward, cleared that the answers given by hospital management were false.

Team also got annoyed when they enquired about the duty roaster, list of staffs and the length of their service at Sadar Hospital, Hazaribagh. In its reply, hospital management had given puzzling answers, which was an attempt to hide the fact, as MlA Yadav said. The Chairman of the committee Deepak Birua became annoyed after verifying the information and said that how could it be accepted that the hospital management is giving honest service to the patients when their answers are false.

Talking to newsmen, Birua said that he will certainly give a written complaint to the health secretary with a recommendation to take action against such type of officials, who are actually making the people fool and betraying the Government. When newsman said that some months ago, health minister had himself inspected the hospital and had announced to take strong action against the erring officials of Sadar Hospital and nothing has happened yet, what is the guarantee that action will be taken on your recommendation, he said that this time he will himself look into the matter till any outcome.
