“like every year, this year also, the number of doctors has been increased to immediately deal with the burn cases in emergency unit. Also, all required medicines and kits have been purchased. All arrangements at burn unit here have been made while important tips have been given to the nurses and ward boys as well to meet the crisis,” said, Ranchi Civil Surgeon, Dr. Shivshankar Harijan.

Similarly at RIMS, the burn ward has 18 beds to accommodate the patients. Accordingly the RIMS administration has made arrangement considering the requirements of patients as burn wounds are vulnerable to infections. The four air-conditioners including fans in the ward have been checked to ensure patients convenience.

Notably, the standard medical procedure is to keep burn patients under a regulated temperature, preferably in an AC room with proper ventilation facility. Earlier several cases of treating burn patients on the floor were reported from the State premier medical college and hospital. In the absence of availability of sufficient number of beds for treating burn patients, additional number of beds has been added.

“All technical glitches have been addressed considering festivals. A communiqué have been issued to all senior doctors and they have been instructed to stay on duty to deal the emergency cases. All required medicines are in stocks. Also, social awareness among the public must be generated and crackers must be busted carefully to avoid untoward incidents,” suggested, RIMS Superintendent, Dr SK Choudhary.
