Human resource development department’s secretary for higher and technical education Ajay Kumar Singh’s video conferencing on Monday with five VCs of the State universities forced VC AN Ojha and Pro VC Bijay Singh of NP university to visit a college in Daltonganj, making the college authorities to first get ready and prepared for NAAC evaluation.

Ojha and Singh accompanied by DSW AS Upadhaya reached YSN Mahila college around 3 in the afternoon on Tuesday and made a thorough inspection of the college and interacted with teachers and non-teachers.

VC Ojha's main thrust was for NAAC evaluation of this college. Speaking to The Pioneer, Ojha said, “This college had given me an October date for ground works for NAAC but here it is November end and things are yet to take off.”

Professor in-charge of YSN Mahila college Mohini Gupta assured the VC of the NAAC preparatory works to be over in another 48 hours time.

Secretary Ajay Kumar Singh in his video conferencing had made it very clear that universities and colleges doing dilly dallying in getting colleges evaluated by NAAC would be at great loss and then there would come no fiscal help to such colleges. The NPU got alarmed over it and touched its first lady college to be ready for this.

Secretary's other thrust was the face lifting of the constituent colleges  for which he wanted that these colleges must shed its ghoulish and time worn look latest by January 5 next year.

Taking a cue from Secretary's directive Ojha and Bijay Singh did most of the talking about the face lifting of this lady college. The two top of NPU asked Mohini Gupta to go for repair and renovation of the college. From impressive entry gate to lush green orchard to tiled pathways the two wanted this college to wear a new and impressive look.

Secretary had wanted to know from NPU VC in the video conferencing if second shift classes have started in UG and PG courses. VC Ojha said the secretary was informed that second shift classes would first be started in only PG teaching centres/university departments and this would definitely take off this December 5

Secretary had laid great emphasis on standardization of labs and library andwanted these two to shed its cobweb image. NPU VC Ojha said respective heads of the departments where labs are have been asked to do the needful.

Pro VC Bijay Singh concentrated most on the problem of absenteeism in the college and scanned daily attendance registers of teaching and non teaching staff of this college. VC Ojha directed Mohini Gupta to list those teachers/ non teachers who were found absent at the time of inspection who as VC said would be served with show cause notices and if need be there would be a day's hold up of salary too.
