The Jharkhand High Court has recommended the state government to dismiss Dhirendra Kumar Mishra from the judicial service. Mishra, who was posted in Dumka is currently under suspension.

The matter is related to his tenure as the district and session judge at Dumka district civil court. He is accused of favouring a party in a false case that he was hearing. It was found that Mishra was in regular touch with the complainant and he was also extending undue favour. The said complainant had lodged a false criminal case against the second party due to some property disputes. Apparently, a complaint was lodged against him by the second party who collected material evidence against the complainant and the judge also. The incident took place in 2016.

The High Court found the allegation as true and serious in nature following which it recommended the state government to dismiss him on the ground of misconduct. Now under the process, the law department will start necessary action and the matter will be placed before the government.

This is the second occasion in recent years when any judicial official attached to Dumka district court landed in a problem.

Earlier, in September 2019, the High Court suspended Dumka district court judge Om Prakash Singh for cutting a costly tree at his official residence without permission of the forest department. The vigilance team of the High Court investigated the matter and found the allegation true. He was suspended a couple of months before his retirement.
