Prime Minister Narendra Modi taking his jibe forward against previous regimes and political opponents reaffirmed that his crusade against corruption would continue unabated. He said this referring to the steps directed to mitigate the menace and for the wellbeing of the countrymen.
Addressing a gathering at Baliapur of Sindri on Friday after laying foundation of five developmental projects located at Sindri, Deoghar, Ranchi, Patratu coming up at the investment of total Rs 27000 crore the Prime Minister said that the measures had left the corrupt persons a worried lot.
“I am the person who fights against corruption and dishonesty in pubic life. All my steps are targeted to that only. Earlier, for past 60 years, urea was getting diverted to chemical plants for other purposes. When I came to power I started neem coating on urea. Now for the last three years farmers have not seen any shortage of urea in the country. The theft has been stopped. But this has made the ‘namdar’ worried who never thought about this after Independence,” said Modi in a veiled reference to the Congress and its leadership.
The Prime Minister also talked about universal electrification scheme which he said had taken power connections to even remotest locations of the country. “All my steps are directed to the disadvantaged and deprived people living in abject conditions for the last 60 years. Over 18,000 villages of this country had not seen electricity and those caring only about vote bank politics never looked at them. We took the challenge and decided to energize even the most difficult terrain of this country and did it before the timeline. Today people are going there to verify the claims which is good,” he said and pleaded also that the task to connect every household with power under Saubhagya scheme, about four crore, would be done likewise.
The PM on the occasion kick started rejuvenation exercise for the first phase (3X800 MW) of two phased Patratu Thermal Power Station (PTPS) by NTPC with investment of Rs 18000 crore, laid foundation for 750-beded AIIMS at Devipur of Deoghar with provision of Rs 1103 crore and for expansion of Deoghar airport, overhauling of Sindri fertilizer plant, piped gas supply project for Ranchi.

Underlining the importance of the projects for eastern part of the country including Jharkhand the PM said that the GAIl gas pipeline would connect 70 districts of the region for commercial and domestic purposes.
“Sindri plant would ensure urea supply to whole eastern regions. The gas grid would source not only Sindri but fertiliser plants of Barauni, Gorakhpur. large numbers of patients are forced to visit AIIMS at Delhi for treatment which would be now become easier. Expansion of Deoghar airport would boost tourism in the area,” said the PM.
He, on the occasion, also counted some of other ambitious projects in the pipeline meant to provide home to all with basic facilities by 2022 and switching to more affordable solar stove from lPG in future. The PM also lauded growth trajectory of Jharkhand under the BJP regime and termed it a result of ‘double engine’ Governments both at the Center and the State while mentioning about recent good show in UlB polls as endorsement of the works done.
Chief Minister Raghubar Das termed the occasion historic for Jharkhand. “The Prime Minister has special corner in his heart for Jharkhand and its people. It is historic that he has given such gifts to the poor, tribal, dalits living in the State. He is fulfilling all the promises made. We here would also fulfill the promise to achieve complete ODF by October 2, 2018. Jharkhand would not only become most developed State of the country but of the world,” said the CM hailing the four years of Modi Government at the Center.
