Hemant violated poll code, says Shahdeo

The State Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) alleged that Jharkhand Mukti Morch (JMM) Executive president and former Chef Minister, Hemant Soren violated the Model Code of Conduct while casting his vote on Sunday.

Speaking on the issue State BJP Spokesperson, Pratul Shahdeo said that Soren has cast his vote wearing JMM printed scarf at St. Francis School.

“After that Soren took part in photo session outside the booth but within the premises wearing JMM printed scarf it is clear example of violation of model code of conduct. BJP has immediately complained against Soren’s deed and demanded immediate action,” he added.

Mocking at Soren for his statement, Shahdeo said that Hemant Soren says that not a single polling official prevented him. “It is principal of law that ignorance of law is not excuse. You can’t be absolved only on the basis of you saying that you don’t have knowledge and officials not prevented.   As Hemant Soren was former Chief Minister and he has tried to campaign for his party by wearing the party’s scarf so Election Commission should take cognizance on the issue and take immediate action,” he added.
