Jharkhand Mukti Morcha executive president and state chief minister Hemant Soren will be the star campaigner of party in Bihar assembly election for the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) which had announced to split from ‘Mahagathbandhan’ and decided to go solo in the upcoming Bihar assembly election 2020. The party has decided to contest seven seats in neighbouring state’s assembly polls after big brother RJD denied to give any seats to JMM. In Jharkhand RJD is in younger brother role with Hemant Soren even inducting RJD lone legislator Satyanad Bhokta in his cabinet.
JMM general secretary, Supriyo Bhattacharya said, “Chief Minister Hemant Soren will hold virtual rallies in poll bound Bihar state and will seek votes for party candidates.” Bhattacharya said that Chief Minister Soren in Bihar will raise the issue of migration of people, unemployment, poor law and order situation and other issue.
As migration of people is core issue both in Bihar and Jharkhand the chief minister will try to connect the masses with these issues. Loss of jobs and unemployment in Bihar during the corona pandemic issue will also be raised by Chief Minister Soren in the election.
The JMM which is contesting election solo in Bihar has decided to contest seven seats, but has announced five candidates name. According to the list, from Chakai assembly seat Elizabeth Soren will contest, from Jhajha seat Ajit Kumar, from Katoria seat Anjela Hansda, from Manihari seat Phoolmati Hembrom, and from Dhamdaha seat Ashok Kumar Hansda.
Sources said that many of these five seats border Bihar having sizeable tribal population. The JMM plan is to tap these voters in Assembly election.
Earlier, JMM was optimistic of getting few seats from RJD/Congress alliance in Bihar, but RJD leader Tejashwi Prasad Yadav neither gave seats to JMM nor to Mukesh Sahni’s VIkassheel Insan Party (VIP).
The VIP denied tickets left Mahagathbandhan joining NDA, while JMM decided to contest alone. Bhattacharya said that JMM had identified seven Assembly constituencies to contest the polls, the party was waiting in the hope that Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) will give seats to contest in Bihar elections, but the party was forced to take decisions against RJDRs s Rs MakkariRs (cunningness). The JMM blamed younger generation leadership of Tejashwi/Tej Pratap for denying any seats to JMM in Bihar.
