As date for two bypolls nears political hotpot in the State has started boiling more vigorously. In a scathing attack on the BJP-ruled Government leader of Opposition and Executive chief of JMM Hemant Soren alleged it for obstructing him in his poll campaign.
In a hurriedly called press conference on Sunday, Hemant Soren leveled charges against BJP leadership and also Chief Minister Raghubar Das. “I was to attend poll rallies at Panki and Godda and a helicopter is stationed here in Ranchi for this purpose. But due to reason best known to the BJP leaders and the Chief Minister, I was not allowed to fly. They are clearly preventing me from going for poll campaign,” charged Soren.
The leader due to ‘technical difficulty’ relating to his VIP status is said to not allowed to use ‘smaller chopper’ and had to attend Panki rally travelling by road while dropped his Godda plan.
Godda and Panki are the constituencies where bypoll is due on May 16. Political indications coming in suggest that both the party are locked in one to one battle on both the seats thus making accusations and counter accusation fierce.
Soren did not stop here and questioned the Government for being on the wrong side of the model code of conduct. “How can the Government take policy decision where there is imposition of model code of conductIJ They made amendments in the CNT and SPT Acts. We would certainly knock the door of the Election Commission on this issue and several others,” said the former CM.
He also commented on recent controversy surfaced in the BJP over domicile policy and termed in bickering involving top party leadership against each other. “The BJP and Government are going to burn due to fire from inside. This is not going to stop here. All is because of the dictatorial working style of the Chief Minster,” added Hemant.
In fact, former Chief Minister of the State and BJP senior leader Arjun Munda had raised some issues with the domicile policy and its constitutionality which is being perceived as personality clash between him and the Chief Minister. The opposition to the Government policy from inside nevertheless has provided a chance for the Opposition parties to jump into. Besides Soren, JVM supremo Babulal Marandi has also backed Arjun Munda on this issue.
