Hemant, Marandi rally behind lalu's grand alliance call

Aiming to form a national level amalgamation of anti-BJP outfits, RJD supremo lalu Prasad Yadav received backings from two major Jharkhand based regional parties JMM and JVM. leaders of both the parties were present on the dais on Sunday at the rally organised at Patna to showcase the unity of alternate political arrangement rebuilding post-Nitish Kumar exit from the grand alliance.

JMM executive president Hemant Soren along with JVM president Babulal Marandi were among the six former Chief Ministers who shared the platform at historic Gandhi Maidan with national leaders likes of West Bengal CM Mamta Banerjee, Congress’ Gulam Nabi Azad, Sharad Yadav, Akhilesh Yadav and CPI’s D Raja.

As expected the line of attack from the leaders representing Opposition from Jharkhand was acts and policies of the BJP ruled Governments both at the Centre and the State.

“Safeguarding the country is our prime responsibility at this juncture because of the system and work culture they are promoting. We can see anger building up against the BJP Governments. It is unfortunate the communal forces have come to power who are acting against ‘Ganga-Jamuni’ culture.

Also they are working against tribal and dalits, snatching their land through amending laws, putting them behind bars if they oppose and suppressing voices in the Assembly by suspending the dissenting MlAs,” said the leader of Opposition in Jharkhand.

Indicting to recent CNT-SPT amendments brought and the Bill passed by the Government to amend the land Acquisition Act, 2013, Soren went on alleging that the State Government was less interested in following law of the land.

“People are being bullied. They are just making it dalit verses dalit, adivasi verses adivasi to hide their failed jumlas. Has anyone got employment as per the claims made during electionsIJ Have you got Rs 15 lakh in your bank accountsIJ Your own money has been taken away leave alone the deposits coming into your account,” said the former Jharkhand Chief Minister referring to the post-demonetisation scenario.

Hemant, who touched feet of lalu when arrived on the dais and enthusiastically waived to the crowd, also quoted great political thinker Chanakya who had said that “in a country where the king becomes businessman people of the kingdom are sure become beggars.”

Marandi, who had earlier shared bonhomie with Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar before his departure from the Opposition’s camp, called by lalu to speak ahead of Hemant despite his seniority, perhaps due to his party’s present political strength in Jharkhand.

“The country and its people are losing freedom of expression very fast and the Constitution and its pillar are in danger. CBI cases are being filed and those not on their camps are being threatened. In Jharkhand, people cannot even worship the god of their choice and would have take permission of officials before doing so,” said Marandi indicating to anti-religious conversion Bill passed recently in the State.

The JVM leader in his address said that Jharkhand was the biggest suffer of the policies and acts of the BJP-led dispensations and alleged it for looting land and natural resources of the State for the sake of corporate while stressing over the need to come and walk together.
