Hemant-Hemlal slugfest over JMM 'blood'

Published on:

Apparently baffled with the two JMM MlAs — Hemlal Murmu and Vidyut Varan Mahto — quitting the party ahead of the lok Sabha elections, Chief Minister Hemant Soren could not stop himself from making an uncharitable remark dubbing them “impure blood” that needed to be drained out.

“Sometimes impure blood needs to be drained out. One does donate blood. It is a natural process. And, with new blood new energy flows in the body,” Soren said in Jamshedpur while he was accompanying JMM’s Jamshedpur candidate NK Mahanty to file nomination for the seat on Tuesday.

The BJP has fielded Vidyut Varan Mahto to challenge JVM’s sitting MP Ajoy Kumar. However, the Chief Minister’s comments invited sharp reactions from Murmu who said that it was Soren’s frustration that was indicative in his statement.

“It is his sheer frustration. I would say that the party is now suffering from blood cancer. Being a responsible person the CM should not speak like this way. The party chose him as CM and if he makes such unwanted remarks it is really unfortunate,” Murmu, who is contesting Raj Mahal parliamentary seat on the BJP ticket, said.
