Ravindra Rai demands suspension of all IAS, IPS officers whose names figured in Tara Shahdeo episode

Putting a question mark on the efficiency of the Jharkhand police, the State BJP has accused the Hemant Soren-led Government of protecting former Minister Yogendra Sao, whose links with criminal gangs and Naxal outfits have been exposed.

Talking to media persons at the BJP headquarters in Ranchi on Sunday, State BJP president Ravindra Rai also demanded suspension of all those IAS and IPS officers whose names appeared in Tara Shahdeo episode so that a free and fair investigation could be done in the case.

“How the State police will protect its citizens, which has not yet been able to trace a former Minister who has reportedly been living in Jharkhand Bhawan in Delhi and has also been seen at the residences of other party leaders,” said Rai. The current coalition Government is gradually losing the confidence of the people of the State, he added.

According to Rai, it is the first instance of its kind that the district administration, under a conspiracy of the State Government was excluded from taking action against a person whose involvement has already been established in many of the sensitive criminal activities. “The manner in which the administration is being kept out of carrying out further investigation in the case, it raises a question mark over the intentions of the State Government,” said Rai.

Referring to the gruesome killing of businessman Pawan Agrawal in the State Capital, Rai also put a question mark on the law and order situation in Ranchi where he was murdered merely one km away from the residences of the DC, SP and other senior officials of the State Government.

“The police must arrest the culprits soon in order to establish a sense of confidence among the people of Ranchi,” he said. Criminals are daring the police and the police seem to have put their guns down before them, added Rai.

Rai also expressed concern over the lackluster attitude of State Government against some of the senior IAS and IPS officers whose names have also surfaced in Tara Shahdeo episode. “We demand immediate suspension of all those officials of the State Government who have been involved in the nefarious activities of Ranjeet Singh Kohli alias Raqibul Hassan,” he added.

Rai, answering a question about the possibility of an alliance with the Jharkhand Vikas Morcha of Babulal Marandi, asserted that the BJP will be fielding its candidates on all 81 seats in the coming Assembly elections in the State.
