State Government’s decision to allot pensions to JP Movement activists drew flak from leader of opposition and JMM legislator Hemant Soren.
Expressing his dissent over the scheme while talking to the pressmen on Thursday, Soren labelled it a BJP strategy to score big in the upcoming Bihar Assembly elections.
“BJP-led NDA has been most often in power in Jharkhand and it is now they realised that JP Movement activists should be honoured. Andolankari Commission has been burdened with this new task when those fought for formation of Jharkhand are still going from pillar to post to claim their rights. This move provokes questions over the sensibility of State Government,” he said.
Soren recalled his plans of implementing projects worth `500 crore for activists from Jharkhand had JMM returned to power and urged the incumbent regime to honour the revolutionaries of Jharkhand Movement as done by the past Government.
The JMM leader even called for an uprising to assist the Jharkhand revolutionaries in claiming the privileges they deserve but opted for an evasive response to whether his disagreement towards awarding Bihar Movement activists is absolute.
