In order to control the teeming crowd inside the pandal premises and moreover in the recent verge of communal tension that the Ranchiites witnessed few days back, the security has been tightened and several initiatives are being taken by the district administration to avoid any untoward incidents.

To ensure the safety of women, children and girls during the Durga puja, proper arrangement has been made by the administration.

CID, IG CID Sampat Meena said, “Especially in the  case of women security, it is mandatory for women to be aware about the 100 number which is a toll free number. CID has also launched a Mahila helpline mobile number. Women can dial 09771432103 for any assistance during the Durga puja.”

Women police personnel are deployed in and around the puja pandals. “We work in shifts, women security guards are deputed in almost all the puja pandals. Maximum time, we are inside the pandal premises in order to control rush,” said Binita Kumari, a woman constable deputed outside the Bharatiya Navyuvak Sangh Puja Pandal at Bakri Bazar. Significantly, most of the pandal organisers have deployed their own private guards or volunteers apart from police personnel in order to ensure the safety of women.
