Heavy Engineering Corporation (HEC) has signed MoU with CINITMASH of Russia for technology for nuclear and defence items and with Rosatom, the State Atomic Energy Corporation, Moscow. Components and spares for nuclear power plant to be supplied by Rosatom under joint cooperation.
Replaying to a questioned asked by Rajya Sabha MP from Jharkhand Mahesh Poddar about revival plan of the plant, Minister of State of Heavy Industries and Public Enterprises Babul Supriyo informed about this and said further that MECON was envisaging a comprehensive overhaul of plant and facilities. The total cost of modernisation after including contingencies, IDC and preoperating expenses adds up to Rs 956.48 crore.
