The principal secretary (additional charge)health Ajoy Kumar Singh in his maiden video conferencing with the civil surgeons of Jharkhand had asked for wider and broader coverage for the Ayushman Card.

It's 44 percent state coverage for it while in districts it is far less. The principal secretary has asked for its upping.

Civil surgeon Garhwa Dr Ashok Kumar who was in this video conferencing of the principal secretary health said "Our principal secretary has directed us to cover particularly vulnerable tribal groups with the Ayushman card by all means. There must not be any perfunctoriness about it. It has to be a sincere and serious one"

Dr Ashok Kumar and others were happy that this principal secretary health was not pulling them on any for the 15th finance commission led works as DDC is a body to handle it primarily.

Health and wellness center is now rechristened. It is Ayushman Arogya Mandir (AAM).

The principal secretary health is of the view that a mere change in the name of the health institution from Health and Wellness center to Ayushman Arogya Mandir  is nothing if services here are not upgraded.

Dr Ashok Kumar said he asked for comprehensive work on the NCD (non communicable diseases).

Test for sickle cell anemia is to be increased. People of the particularly vulnerable tribal group are susceptible to sickle cell anaemia, said another civil surgeon Palamu Dr Anil Kumar.

Dr Anil Kumar said ICE (information, communication and education) plays a major role in preventing diseases and the principal secretary health just wanted ICE to be useful in every sense.

"The country just woke up to learn of the demise of a famous celebrity from cervical cancer. However 'the dead herself refuted it saying it was a fake demise'. said Dr Anil Kumar.

Palamu civil surgeon said "I have no comment on it but I think people specially girls and women should know what cervical cancer is and how early it can be detected."
