Heads to roll in AJSU post-poll fiasco

After drubbing in the recently conducted general elections, the AJSU party on Wednesday reviewed lapses in the party’s strategy the other reasons that led to poor performance in the election. The party’s Central Working Committee also brainstormed the future strategies.

The committee approved sweeping changes in the organisation in the aftermath of the poll debacle and ordered the removal of district in-charge of the party.

The committee decided that the party supremo Sudesh Kumar Mahto will visit blocks to take the pulse of political situations and party’s strength in the area. Significantly, the party is likely to fall back on its previous agenda of ‘special status to Jharkhand’ and will send one postcard from each village to Prime Minister Narendra Modi to draw attention towards their demand. The programme will be organized from June 9 to August 8.

“We will request PM to take positive steps in the direction of granting special status to Jharkhand,” said party spokesperson Devsharan Bhagat.  The AJSU party will also stage demonstrations on the issue of poor electricity supply, rights to PRIs and will corner the State Government over Food Security Bill.
