A delegation comprising Mayors, Deputy Mayors, Chairpersons and Vice chairpersons of 10 municipal bodies from across the State led by Mayor Asha Lakra presented a memorandum to the Governor Draupadi Murmu demanding their rights and protesting against the continuous intervention by the State government in their day to day work on Wednesday.
The representatives stated that continuous intervention in the work of the civic bodies is being done by Jharkhand Urban Infrastructure Development (JUIDCO) and State Urban Development Agency (SUDA) constituted by the State government and urged the Governor to take necessary action in this regard.
The delegation also stated that before staring any tender process, detailed information of the plan or policy should also be conveyed to the public representatives to avoid any confusion. There is also a need to establish better coordination between public representatives and officials for better facilities.
